Game Time

Did you know that 15 minutes of mental stimulation is equivalent to a 3 mile walk? Say what?! Game changer! On those cold days, or if you're unable to go for your walk, it's time for a game!

Here's some fun ideas for you and your pooch to discover! I'll attach links to some of my favorite games! Please note, I am not affiliated with these games, I just like them!

- PUZZLES! Puzzles are one of my absolutely favorite activities to do with dogs! Why? They're so easy for us humans to understand, they work the dog's mind figuring out where the treat is, it's super adorable to watch them as they figure it out. Here are some of my favorites: Ethical Pet Seek-A-Treat Shuffle Bone Dog Puzzle : Amazon.ca: Pet Supplies

- GAMES! Games are not only a fantastic bonding time with you and your dog, you can also use your basic obedience training to keep it fun and fresh!

For example:

Push-Ups! Have your dog in the "Sit" position, then "Down" position, then back to the "Sit" position. Simple right? See how many times you can get your dog to do push-ups in 15 seconds! Next time, see if you beat your high score!

Hide 'n Seek! I'm sure you have all seen the funny videos of people hiding behind a blanket in front of their dog, dropping it, and they've magically disappeared! This is a great activity for you and your dog! Especially is they are a sniffer! Hide all over the house and call your dog, once he finds you, give him a little treat! The faster hegets, make it a little more difficult, hide in the closet perhaps?

Ring Around the Rosie! Is your dog learning the "Come" command? This is a great game to help! Have all the members in the house sit in a nice big circle and take turns calling your dog over! Make sure to reward the dog every time he correctly does the command!
